It's "Moderate"

By "moderate", they mean "not as severe as some, but worse than most."

So comforting.

However, it wasn't too bad. Yes, her head is flat on one side. This is abundantly clear. But the plastic surgeon (unfortunately it was not McSteamy, and little Grey was nowhere to be found, either)was on the same page as us as far as helmets go and Sabrina won't be going that route. Basically since she doesn't have the asymmetry of her features, which can happen with the much more severe cases, there just aren't any comprehensive studies showing the helmet is more effective than not wearing one. It might accelerate it a bit, but at a pretty high cost. Our insurance covers the helmet, it's not a financial issue, it's a comfort issue.

In the end, we decided to pursue physical therapy for Sabrina since her tight and short neck muscles are likely the reason her head is flat since she doesn't have much freedom of movement. Also likely why she face plants during tummy time instead of laying on her cheek. I'm a little pissed we're starting this at 6 months instead of 4months when I asked about it (someday the medical community will realize I'm not full of shit and know what I'm talking about. I mean, Google isn't a toy, people!)but I'm glad she's going to get the help she needs. That might help her head round out a little faster, too. But ultimately, it's going to be a long road, and it will be months and months before it rounds out. Which is ok. She's still the cutest ever, and as long as there isn't going to be any other long term effects, I can deal with my little flat head.

Maybe it's the universe's way of teaching me a lesson. She doesn't have to be perfect, and I certainly shouldn't expect her to be. I had all sorts of issues growing up about needing to be perfect, to the point that I developed an ulcer in the fourth grade. I was a stress case at 8 years old. That's a problem I don't need to pass on to my little one.

But dammit, if it doesn't look better by the time she's a year old, I'm getting her a wig.

I'm glad she's getting the help she needs and no helmet! And as someone who is not her mom, Sabrina is adorable. Seriously, one of the most beautiful babies I've seen!

I hate knowing something's wrong and having people ignore me. It makes me homocidal. More homocidal than usual I should say.

did I even spell homocidal correctly? It looks wrong.

Poor Sabrina...she is beautiful even if she had to wear a helmet. But I'm glad she isn't going to. Glad you've finally getting some answers...not sure why some medical people drag their feet. You have a mommy instinct ant that's better than any medical test or exam ((Hugs))
