My very first award!

I want to thank Sally over at Sally's World for honoring me with my first ever blog award. Sally's blog isn't only funny but truly inspirational, and I don't throw that word around lightly. Plus, she's from the UK so she uses words like "mum" which makes her super cool to me. As an ode to Sally, I'd like to write this post with an English accent, but I think most of that would get lost in translation. This award was also a reminder that I need to update my blogroll on my blog. I still think Blogger should just automatically update it anytime I add someone to my reader, but that's another post entirely. One that will probably be named, "Things I'll bitch about even though it's a totally free service and I should just keep my mouth shut."

Here's my award:

Isn't it pretty? I love it. I am a bad blogger in terms of ignoring the game of tag. I've never done it, and honestly I don't read what people post about being tagged. I lose interest very quickly. But, I am all.about.awards. That's something I can sink my teeth into. So I now get to pass my award on to 6 blogs that I love. I have no idea if these bloggers will regard this coveted award with the disdain I give to tags OR the glee I give to awards, but the bottom line is these blogs should be read by everyone so at the very least, maybe each of them will get a new reader or two. They're all funny, all have their touching stories, all smart, kick ass women with something worth saying. So read them!

I don't recall ever getting an award before! Ever! Wow. I want to give a Kate Winslet / Gwyneth Paltrow / Sally Field kind of acceptance speech. Where will the ceremony be held???
