First Christmas

Sabrina's first Christmas was quite the success, and we now have the next stage of massive toy thingies covering our very small living room floor. So much for any attempt at interior design when you have brightly colored exersaucers, jumperoos and the like covering every available square inch. Thankfully my attempt at interior design was feeble at best, so there's really no loss there.

But the girl loves them. Her feet barely touch the ground in the exersaucer, and they don't touch the ground in the jumperoo so we have to slide a pillow underneath, and she can't reach really any of the toys, but she loves them. Easy to please, I guess. Give her some lights and music and she's content. Throw in a silly face and dance from mommy or daddy, and she's ecstatic. Having something to occupy her for a minute that doesn't require hands makes mom and dad ecstatic. Plus they make for some great new photo ops.

One of my favorites from her exersaucer sessions, I call this one, "Whatcha talking about apple?" (and if you aren't as ancient as me, you won't get the Different Stroke reference there, but believe me, it's funny.)

And from her jumperoo (she likes it, she really likes it! And if you don't get the Life Cereal reference, well...)

And just because I am aware that Christmas isn't about the materialistic shit, and it's finally the Christmas we waited so long for -

i bow down to the almighty exersaucer. My first daughter Dylan hated everything... the swing, the bouncy seat, sleeping, apparently living... until that exersaucer arrived. She freakin' loved that thing.
