Dropping the kid off at the pool.

Oh, I've waited so long to title a post with an analogy about poo.

Despite that, this isn't about poo, it's about the pooL. The kiddie pool, to be exact. Sabrina's first time which was a rousing success...or really, just kind of okay.

Started out pretty decent:
But that didn't last long. Suddenly, it seemed not so much fun.

Not angry or crying anything, just...there.

There are about 50 pictures very similar to this one. Sabrina in the exact same position, not moving. Why? Because the water was really motherfucking cold and she was probably frozen. I know I was. We learned the hard way that we should fill up the pool and let it sit in the sun for a bit before dropping our child into the freezing cold abyss. I couldn't take it, so I got out. Aren't I a nice mom? Yes, I left her in there so I could get more pictures.

It was worth it.

I cannot tell you how much I love Old Man Smile.

But this may be my new favorite. I call it the "Really, Mom? You can't see that I'm cold? My swimsuit is being held together by a safety pin in back because you can't figure out the damn clasp, you stick me in ice cold water for a photo op, bail on me when you get a little chilly, and proceed to take countless pictures of me doing the same thing. I'm over it. Enough. Get me out of here."

Love the Sabrina commentary! Her old man smile looks a little Popeye to me... Soooo adorable!
