My girl likes to party all the time.

Sabrina's actual 2nd birthday isn't for another week or so, but just in case we have an early arrival (since she and her brother's due dates are only one day apart) we decided to have her birthday party early so she wouldn't have to share it with a newborn. This time, we kept it simple since we went all out for her 1st and just had our immediate families over. And? Simple is better. Way better. She had an absolute blast with everyone, playing with her cousins and enjoying her backyard. All we did was throw all of her outside toys on the lawn and call it a party. Who knew??

Before the guests arrived, we gave her the present, her new tricycle.

She was very excited when she saw it.
(Incidentally, what is it about Crocs and kids? They are like crack. Ugly, ugly crack.)

Daddy helped her ride it as she's just a little shy of reaching the pedals all the way.

And then, she spotted a stick to play with and she was done with the tricycle forever.

I really don't know why we even bother.

She had lots of fun with her cousins in the kiddie pool and sprinkler. The child loves water and swimming more than anything else in the world.

But the biggest hit of all was her new trampoline.

She can really get air on that thing.

She's also currently very obsessed with it. Not just in the jumping sense. She uses it for everything now. To play with toys on it, to watch TV. To sleep.

Anyway.

We had cupcakes, which she helped frost (as did this very cool can of spray on buttercream frosting that made us look like pros, thankyouverymuch Betty Crocker)

And opened presents from family that were way too generous - the kid really made out with some awesome stuff! All while mommy sat there looking like a whale. Really, did I think that angle was going to be attractive for photos??

At the risk of sounding totally sappy, it truly was a special day for her. She had so much fun, all the kids were so good - and considering her younger cousins are 1.5yrs to 2.5yrs, we are in serious temper tantrum mode yet not a single tantrum was thrown. Amazing.

And now, she's about to really turn two and that is insane to me.
